Most visitors to Koh Lanta are travelling from Phuket by boat via Phi Phi Island. If you plan your trip well in advance you can book the pick up from your hotel including the boat ticket to Phi Phi Island with Andaman Wave Master, a well-established travel agency in Phuket Town.

Depending on the location of your hotel, you are picked up between 07:30 and 08:00 for the boat leaving at 08:30 from a pier in town. The boat arrives at Phi Phi Island around 10:30 and the connecting boat departs from November to April at 11:30. Open pick-up trucks and minibuses are waiting when the boat arrives about one hour later at Saladan on the northern tip of Koh Lanta and transfer you to the chosen resort. This transfer is offered free of charge by most resorts.

Should you arrive by morning flight with Thai Airways, you will be too late already, to catch the boat to Phi Phi Island. Should you need hotel accommodation for this night Andaman Wave Master can arrange that for you.

If you want to reach Koh Lanta on the same day, or you prefer to go overland, a private transfer can be arranged by Andaman Wave Master. In this case you are picked up at the airport or your hotel. The distance is about 260 kilometres, includes 2 car ferries and the travelling time is about 5 hours. Kindly note, that the car ferries are operating only until 22:00 and pick up after 17:30 is not possible.

From May to October the boats from Phi Phi Island to Ko Lanta do not operate due to strong winds and high waves in the monsoon season. During this time the private transfer is the only choice to go to Koh Lanta.

From November to April, the boats for the return trip leave from Saladan Pier at 08:00 and 13:00 to arrive at Phi Phi Island about one hour later. If the morning boat is in time, you might change to the expressboat from Phi Phi Island to Phuket on the open sea and you will arrive to Phuket Town around 11:00. There are Tuk-tuks and taxis waiting to bring you to your hotel or the airport.
If you take the afternoon choice, you have to change the boat at the pier on Phi Phi Island and will reach Phuket Town around 16:30. If you would like to have the transfer to your hotel or Phuket Airport arranged, you can order this service with Andaman Wave Master.
Again, if you prefer to return on land, a private transfer can be arranged for you that includes drop off at your hotel or the airport. From May to October the private transfer is the only choice to return.
